What are the meetings like ?
Located in a University city with over 30% of students, and a significant part of them on international English medium programmes, our congregation underlies natural fluctuation, and we may not be of impressive size. Even more so, a family atmosphere and caring for each other is at the heart of our little church.
During the worship service, we sing praises to our Lord with upbeat music, supported by our beautiful band. We´ll have meaningful Bible-based preaching as well as contemplative elements like a time of testimonies, personal sharing time, Bible discussions, and praying for and upliftig each other.
The church service is held in English, but we do also include elements in other languages where needed. The languages spoken in our congregation are: English, German, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, French and Serbo-Croatian.
After the service we invite you to have fellowship with us with snacks and tea. Most probably someone will have cooked or baked something, to make everybody feel at home.
This is a time where we can get to know each other in a family setting.
Jesus Christ is the centre of our lives, because He loved us so and redeemed us by His sacrifice on the cross. He brought us back to God His Father. We long to please Him and know Him better, as we serve Him and each other. All who are Jesus´own, belong to the One Family, irrespective of our language, country, culture or denomination. This is why an atmosphere of caring and supporting each other is of central importance to us.
We Believe
that all true believers are united together by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ – the Church. We believe that the Church is to be a light for unbelievers, to point them to the true light of Jesus Christ.
• in only one God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in God as He has revealed Himself in the Holy Bible.
• in God the Father, the Sovereign and Supreme Creator and Ruler of the heavens and the earth.
• in Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, who became man without ceasing to be God, and was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He came to reveal God to mankind and to redeem His people from sin through His life, death and resurrection.
• We believe in Christ’s return that he will once again visibly come back and remove His Church from the earth and to set up an earthly kingdom. God will do this in His own time and in His own way.
• in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Holy Trinity. He glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ and convicts individuals of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He permanently indwells all believers to cause them to walk in God’s ways.
• that the first man, Adam, was created in the image of God. Through a voluntary act of disobedience, he fell into a state of sin, lost his spiritual life, and became dead in sins and corrupt in nature. As our human representative, his sin nature has been passed down to all who are born.
• that Salvation from the guilt and condemnation of sin is possible only as the gift of God’s graceby faith in the substitutionary life and death of Jesus Christ.
• that all believers will inherit Eternal Life and enjoy fellowship with God forever in heaven. All unbelievers who rejected God and His offer of free forgiveness through the death of Christ, will be ultimately separated from Him for ever.
